Job Description

This contract position is for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or American Sign Language Educator based onsite in Pulaski, WI. The role focuses on supporting elementary students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing specialized instruction throughout the school day. The position requires working a standard 37.5-hour week from the start date through May 29, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction tailored to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing elementary students.
  • Collaborate with staff to support individual student academic progress.
  • Implement educational strategies that promote reading, writing, and mathematics readiness.
  • Manage caseload effectively, adapting teaching methods to various learning styles.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of post-secondary education equating to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited institution, OR
  • Possession of an associate degree or higher, OR
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics through a rigorous state or local academic assessment.
  • Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License is required.
