A part-time teaching opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to work onsite at an elementary school in Freeport, ME during the 2024-2025 school year. This position involves providing specialized instruction and support to a kindergarten student with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional services to a kindergarten student with deaf or hard of hearing needs.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet developmental goals.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Maine Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license is required.
- Experience working with young children and familiarity with deaf/hard of hearing educational strategies is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite, part-time for approximately 5 hours per week (1 hour per day).
