Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid Maine Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License
  • Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and the special education process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Location:
Portland, ME (Onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Assess student needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff during IEP meetings
  • Implement effective teaching strategies to facilitate student learning
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
