Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated professional skilled in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This role focuses on creating an inclusive and empowering educational environment for K-12 students, emphasizing personalized instruction and developmental support.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida teaching license in deaf or hard of hearing
  • Bachelors degree in education or related field
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience working with K-12 students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Location:

Port Saint Lucie, FL

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, tailored to their individual needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other educational professionals
  • Support students social and emotional development alongside academic growth
  • Advocate for students' needs within the school community and beyond
  • Collaborate with staff to enhance communication strategies and instructional methods
