Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to serve K-12 students in a school setting located in Ooltewah, TN. This full-time contract position supports children following their individual schedules throughout the school year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across varying grade levels
  • Collaborating with educational staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs
  • Ensuring compliance with state and district educational requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active Tennessee Department of Education certification specific to Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school personnel
  • Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and schedules as required

Position Details:

  • Location: Ooltewah, TN (Chattanooga Area)
  • Job Duration: Continuous School Year (CSY) contract, beginning ASAP through May 21, 2026
  • Hours: Full-time, approximately 35 to 37.5 hours per week
  • On-site presence required; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available
  • Caseload assignments may vary based on student schedules
