Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional specializing in educational needs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This role focuses on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for K-12 students in North Las Vegas, NV.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Deaf Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 students, demonstrating effective instructional strategies.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching practices to meet individual student needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement instructional plans tailored to the diverse needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters social and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists and audiologists, to enhance student learning.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, providing feedback and support to encourage development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in best practices.
