Job Description

An elementary school is seeking a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position focuses on providing dedicated support and instruction to a 2nd-grade caseload, fostering an inclusive and adaptive learning environment for students with varying needs and behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique communication and learning requirements of deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement effective teaching strategies to meet diverse learning goals
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress and engagement
  • Monitor student behavior and adapt instructional approaches to maintain a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Utilize appropriate technology and resources to enhance communication and learning outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching license for the State of New Jersey, specifically for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably with a 2nd-grade caseload
  • Ability to manage a range of student behaviors in a professional and effective manner
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with school teams and families
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive educational practices
