A K-12 educational institution in Nashua, NH is seeking a qualified Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a contract position spanning the next school year. This role involves delivering specialized instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of students with hearing impairments, ensuring accessibility and full participation in the academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Provide direct instruction in language development, communication skills, and academic subjects.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, audiologists, and support staff to facilitate student success.
• Utilize assistive technologies and strategies to optimize learning experiences.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Advocate for students educational and social needs within the school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to Deaf education.

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Strong understanding of communication modalities including American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory-verbal techniques.
