Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified professional specializing in deaf and hard of hearing education. This contract position is located in Lowell, MA, and focuses on providing comprehensive support to students with varying needs in an onsite setting.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) licensure
  • Experience in working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and teaching resources for deaf/hard of hearing students
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with staff, students, and families

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring that educational goals are met
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusion
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
  • Engage with families to support student learning and development
