Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to support K-12 learners in a dynamic educational setting. This contract position is designed for the current school year and offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on students academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring accessibility and engagement
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs and promote language development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and classroom teachers
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of individual achievements
  • Provide support and guidance to families regarding communication strategies and educational resources
  • Stay current with best practices, assistive technologies, and state regulations related to Deaf Education

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in sign language or willingness to learn
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and use a variety of teaching tools
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
