Job Description

A full-time education position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to serve students for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract role offers a 7.5-hour day, Monday through Friday schedule, providing consistent interaction and support within the classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborating with other educators and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) effectively to communicate and engage with students.
  • Supporting English learners as part of a bilingual educational approach.
  • Maintaining detailed records of student progress and adapting teaching methods accordingly.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Valid California Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) credential.
  • Authorization to teach English Learners.
  • Proof of American Sign Language proficiency through a minimum score of 4.0 on the ASL Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) or an equivalent assessment.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for supporting deaf and hard of hearing students academic and social development.

Location: Folsom, California.
