Job Description

A qualified educator is needed to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a dynamic K-12 school environment. This position focuses on creating an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Location: Florence, SC
Job Duration: Full School Year (July 21, 2025 - June 2, 2026)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with deafness or hearing loss.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to create a comprehensive learning environment.
  • Provide direct instruction to students, fostering effective communication and social skills.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Engage with families to support student development and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina Educator Certification in Special Education: Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
  • Ability to create and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive educational environment.
