Job Description

A school district in Elgin, IL is seeking a full-time Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support middle and high school students for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students across middle and high school levels
  • Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, families, and related service providers
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet learning goals
  • Facilitate communication between students, families, and staff, including use of assistive technology and accommodations
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings related to TDHH services

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (IL TDHH) License
  • Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in middle and high school settings is highly desired

Location and Schedule:

  • Onsite position located in Elgin, Illinois
  • Full-time hours, Monday through Friday during the upcoming school year
