Job Description

A Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is needed for an elementary school serving a 2nd-grade caseload for the 20252026 school year. This is a contract position beginning as soon as possible, with the duration aligned to the school calendar year.

Location: Edison, NJ
Duration: Contract, 20252026 School Year
Grade Level: Elementary, 2nd Grade Caseload

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student progress
  • Managing varying student behaviors with professionalism and understanding
  • Maintaining compliance with state education standards and communication protocols

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey teaching license in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably 2nd grade or similar
  • Ability to manage diverse behaviors and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
