Job Description

This opportunity is for a skilled educator specializing in the instruction of students who are deaf or hard of hearing within a K-12 school setting. The position is available on a contract basis, offering both full-time and part-time options. The role requires dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments and supporting students academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing appropriate communication methods and accommodations.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet unique learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success.
  • Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning experiences.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with families.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Knowledge of sign language and auditory-verbal techniques is highly desirable.
  • Ability to design and implement effective instructional strategies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners.

Location: Denton, TX (with mention of Fort Worth, TX availability)

Duration: Contract position for the current school year (CSY), starting ASAP through May 29, 2026.
