Job Description

Deliver specialized educational services as a full-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) within a K-12 setting located in Circle Pines, MN. This contract role spans from ASAP through June 9, 2026, focusing on providing instruction and support to a low-incidence population of approximately 36 students, ranging in age from birth to 22 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, aligned with IEP goals.
  • Collaborate closely with families, educators, and service providers to enhance communication access and promote educational achievement.
  • Utilize proficiency in ASL or other appropriate communication methods to facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of the DHH population.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or Education.
  • Valid state licensure or certification specifically in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH).
  • Hold a Minnesota teaching license.
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or alternative communication techniques relevant to the student population.
