Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or credential in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Previous experience working with K-12 students, preferably in an itinerant role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and adapt to varying classroom environments.

Location: Cicero, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across 3-4 schools.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and other professionals to support students overall development.
  • Engage in moderate travel, maintaining a caseload that allows for personalized attention to each student.
