Job Description

A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a professional skilled in educating students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) within a K-12 setting. This role requires an educator with active Tennessee Department of Education certification, ready to support a diverse caseload of students across varying school assignments in the Chattanooga area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across K-12 grades
  • Manage individual caseloads, adapting to students unique schedules and needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster inclusive learning environments
  • Monitor student progress and communicate development to relevant stakeholders
  • Utilize specialized teaching strategies to enhance communication and learning for DHH students

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Tennessee DOE Certification with a focus on education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Demonstrated experience teaching DHH students in a K-12 environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, families, and specialists
  • Commitment to fostering student growth and adjusting instruction based on individual needs
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school settings within the Chattanooga area as caseloads change

Position Details:

  • Location: On-site in Chattanooga, TN (No remote or hybrid options)
  • Full-time hours: 35-37.5 hours per week
  • Contract Duration: Current School Year (ASAP start through May 21, 2026)
  • Caseload and school assignments vary based on student schedules
