Job Description

Providing specialized education and support services to students with hearing loss, this full-time contract opportunity spans from ASAP through June 9, 2026. The position involves direct, onsite work serving a low-incidence population of approximately 36 students from birth to age 22 in a K-12 school setting in Burnsville, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support aligned with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate closely with families, educators, and service providers to ensure effective communication access and promote student success
  • Adapt educational strategies to meet diverse communication needs, utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) or other appropriate methods
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 36 students across birth to age 22 within the low-incidence population

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or Education
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license
  • State licensure or certification specifically in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other suitable communication techniques
