Job Description

An educational institution in Bethlehem, PA, is seeking a qualified professional to provide specialized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (K-12). This role requires expertise in delivering tailored education strategies that support language development and academic achievement for students with hearing impairments. The position is a contract for the current school year (CSY), involving a consistent weekly schedule.

Qualifications:

  • PDE Certification in Special Education with a focus on Hearing Impaired (required)
  • Proven experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and methods that enhance learning accessibility

Location:

  • Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Adapt curricula and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with families, audiologists, speech therapists, and other specialists to optimize student outcomes
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with educational regulations

Work Schedule:

  • 35 hours per week, 5 days per week
