Job Description

A K-12 educational institution in Arlington, TX, seeks a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide full-time and part-time instructional support for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This contract position runs through the current school year, ending May 29, 2026, with an immediate start date.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored instructional plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, promoting their academic achievement and communication skills.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with applicable laws and educational standards related to deaf and hard of hearing services.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Familiarity with hearing assistive technologies and communication methodologies such as American Sign Language or oral communication.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
