A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Ypsilanti, MI, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade in a supportive school environment. This contract role extends until June 5, 2026, with an immediate start date.
Key responsibilities include managing caseloads across multiple classrooms: an elementary setting focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairment (CI), a 2nd/3rd grade classroom, and a 4th/5th grade classroom. The role demands the ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to diverse learners, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support students' academic and social growth in compliance with special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education license with endorsement in Cognitive Impairment (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Experience teaching K-12 students with special needs, particularly in ASD and CI settings
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple classrooms
