This full-time, onsite position runs from September 8, 2026, through June 17, 2027, and offers the exciting opportunity to support students in specialized settings, with five positions available. As a Special Education Teacher, youll be instrumental in creating a positive and structured learning experience for your students near Woodburn, OR.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Special Education (SPED) teaching certification/license in Oregon
- Demonstrated expertise working with elementary students exhibiting challenging behaviors, including physical aggression and elopement from buildings
- Substantial experience managing a high-volume Learning Resource Classroomhandling an average caseload of approximately 43 students
- Strong classroom management abilities, with proven strategies for creating supportive, inclusive environments
- Outstanding communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills
- Required: Contact information for the three most recent supervisor references; applications without this cannot be considered
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Manage and adapt to behavioral incidents, employing evidence-based interventions and de-escalation strategies
- Teach across behavior-focused and high-volume resource classrooms, ensuring each student receives personalized support
- Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, school staff, and families to drive student success
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and progress reports in accordance with district and state guidelines
