This full-time opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher working onsite at an elementary school in Winsted, CT. The position is contract-based for the current school year, providing a meaningful role supporting the academic and developmental needs of students requiring specialized educational services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and adapt teaching strategies
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in meetings with parents and educational teams
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working in elementary school settings preferred
- Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional techniques, and classroom management
