Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Life Skills Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, in-person contract position is tailored for someone who is passionate about working in a K-3 classroom and dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Special Education teaching license or certification in Utah.
  • Prior experience working in special education settings, particularly with Life Skills or self-contained classrooms, is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with faculty, families, and support staff.
  • Adaptability and creativity in designing individualized instructional plans for students.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and motivating classroom environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students, with a focus on Life Skills instruction for grades K-3.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Track and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet educational goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists.
  • Engage with families and caregivers to ensure effective communication and promote student progress.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.

This role extends from July 28, 2026 to May 26, 2027 and offers a supportive environment where your expertise is valued.
