Job Description

Join an educational setting dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school environment. This full-time role offers a commitment from ASAP through May 29, 2026, with a focus on delivering resource classroom instruction to 4th and 5th-grade students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored for elementary students in grades 4 and 5 within a resource classroom setting.
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to meet the academic and behavioral needs of students with special education requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education services.

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Special Education Teaching License.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
  • Prior experience teaching special education in a school setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Location: Elementary school in Waukegan, Illinois.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 35 to 37.5 hours per week.
