Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant educational community near Watseka, IL. In this position, you'll guide and inspire a caseload of 14-20 high school learners, collaborating closely with co-teachers in inclusive English and Algebra/Geometry settings, and take ownership of two direct math classes. Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education (SPED) License required
• Experience working with high school students is strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of differentiated instruction and accommodations in both English and Mathematics
• Professional, adaptable, and collaborative approach to working with students, co-teachers, and support staff
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible instruction in English and Math for small-group and co-taught classes
• Manage a caseload of 14-20 high school students, adapting teaching strategies to individual needs
• Work effectively with other educators in four co-taught classes, plus two direct math sections
• Support students during a study hall period and utilize prep time effectively to ensure high-quality instruction and communication with families or staff
• Maintain accurate records, track student progress, and ensure compliance with IEPs and state requirements

Additional Details:

• Contract runs from August 14, 2026, through May 28, 2027
• Full-time schedule (approximately 37.5 hours per week), assigned to one school location
• Supervision and support provided for the role
• District-specific onboarding and fingerprinting required prior to starting
• Interview is a 1:1 format with a school leader to help you get to know the environment and expectations
