Job Description

A full-time position is available for a Special Education Teacher to cover a maternity leave from December 4 to March 4. This opportunity involves working in an elementary school setting focused on providing individualized support to students in need of special education services.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction and accommodations tailored to the unique needs of elementary-aged students within the special education program. Collaborating with paraeducators, RBTs, or other support staff will be part of the role to ensure effective supervision and implementation of student learning plans. Maintaining accurate records, participating in team meetings, and communicating with families to support student progress are critical elements of this position.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Wisconsin Special Education teaching license required
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Comfort working full time Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM

This is a contract position based in Sun Prairie, WI, with a dedicated caseload in one elementary school. The school district offers competitive hourly pay and a supportive environment for educators.

Interviews will be conducted via Zoom in a panel/casual format. Hiring decisions will be made promptly to accommodate the December start date.
