Make a meaningful impact on students educational journeys as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive K-8 environment. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with diverse learners across several specialized settings: a 2nd grade learning support classroom, a Wilson Reading position serving grades 3-8, and a K-2 emotional support classroom. You will be working onsite with a collaborative and passionate educational team, helping to shape positive outcomes for students who need specialized support.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher required
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education and Elementary Education
- Prior experience with the Wilson Language System required for the Wilson Reading role
- Knowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction, behavioral interventions, and IEP development
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students based on IEP goals and learning plans
- Implement the Wilson Reading System with fidelity for students assigned to that role
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate for learning and social-emotional development
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student progress
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs, documenting student growth and adapting strategies as needed
- Participate in school-based meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
