Job Description
This long-term special education teaching opportunity is ideal for educators passionate about supporting elementary students with learning disabilities. Located in Old Saybrook, CT, this contract position runs from now through the end of the school year and involves working Monday through Friday at a single elementary school serving kindergarten through 5th grade.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload of approximately 10 students with diverse learning needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with general education teachers, and creating a supportive learning environment that fosters student growth and success.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5), especially students with learning disabilities
- Ability to design and execute tailored instructional strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with school staff and families
- Patience, creativity, and dedication to student progress
Location: Old Saybrook, CT
Contract: Long-term substitute, now through end of the school year
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Caseload: Approximately 10 elementary-age students (K-5)
