Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold current South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification or have pending status for SC certification
  • Experience or strong interest in working with students with learning disabilities, preferably in a self-contained setting
  • Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and individualized student support
  • Comfortable working exclusively onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with learning disabilities in a self-contained middle school classroom
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to student needs
  • Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to accommodate diverse learning styles
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support student success
  • Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families
  • Document student progress and maintain required records in compliance with regulations
