Sunbelt Staffing, in partnership with VocoVision, is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic Digital Special Education Teacher to join our team. This remote position is based in the vibrant state of New Mexico and focuses on working with K-12 students who have mild to moderate diagnoses. As a Digital Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing personalized instruction and support to students through our innovative online platform.

Job Details:

  • Position: Digital Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Remote (New Mexico)
  • Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Duration: Full-time, Long-term
  • Reporting To: Special Education Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver virtual instruction to K-12 students with mild to moderate special education needs.
  • Collaborate with students, parents, and educational teams to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine students' unique learning requirements and track their progress.
  • Adapt and create educational materials that cater to various learning styles and abilities.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and supportive online learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and school staff to monitor progress and address any concerns.
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms adeptly to provide interactive and engaging lessons.
  • Document and analyze students' academic performance and behavior, adjusting strategies accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators and support staff to deliver a comprehensive online learning experience.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities to stay current with online special education best practices.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Possess a valid New Mexico teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within the K-12 setting.
  • Proven proficiency in developing and implementing effective IEPs.
  • Display competence in utilizing online education platforms and technology for instruction.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills essential for virtual teaching and effective collaboration.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Embrace a strong passion for facilitating the growth of students with special needs.
  • Show dedication, organization, and self-motivation in your work approach.
  • Have a reliable home office setup and internet connection suitable for virtual teaching.
