Job Description

A self-contained specialist is sought for a full-time, in-person position in Sweeny, TX, within a K-12 school setting. This role is dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications:

  • Valid EC-12 Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Previous experience teaching students with special needs
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Proficient in adapting curriculum to meet varied educational requirements

Location: Sweeny, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement instructional programs tailored to the individual needs of students with special education requirements.
  • Develop, update, and maintain IEPs, ensuring they reflect each student's unique goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic performance and behavioral expectations.
