Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience in providing individualized instruction and accommodations to students with diverse learning needs
- Strong organizational skills to manage and document IEPs, progress reports, and classroom activities
- Commitment to collaboration with general education staff, families, and support personnel
- Adaptability and compassion to encourage growth and foster a positive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction in a resource room for high school students, adapting lessons to meet unique needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess student skills and track progress toward learning goals
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student success
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training sessions
- Maintain a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to student learning and engagement
- Uphold all district and state requirements concerning special education practices
