Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to provide direct services to 5th grade resource students within a K-12 school setting. The position is based onsite in Sterling Heights, MI, and runs on a contract basis through the end of the current school year. The role involves approximately 20 hours per week, focusing on delivering tailored educational support to meet the needs of students requiring special education services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct special education instruction and support to 5th grade resource students
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and school policies regarding special education services

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Michigan Special Education Teacher license
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel
  • Ability to adapt lessons and activities to meet diverse learning needs
