Job Description

A Special Education Teacher is needed for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 school setting located in Sterling Heights, MI. This full-time contract position begins ASAP and runs through May 2026. The role primarily focuses on teaching K-8 resource room students and requires a proactive approach to managing a range of student behaviors.

Responsibilities include collaborating closely with general education teachers and the special education team to deliver targeted interventions that meet individual student needs. You will develop and implement tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student growth and success within a supportive, experienced teaching environment.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with K-8 resource room students
  • Ability to develop and implement effective IEPs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to address varied student behaviors and learning styles

Work Schedule and Location:

  • Full-time hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Position based in Sterling Heights, MI
