Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary or middle school classrooms focused on Autistic Support and Life Skills. This onsite contract role is based in Sterling Heights, MI, with a commitment of 35-40 hours per week during the current school year (CSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and tailored support to students with autism and life skills needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to support learning and behavioral growth.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to ensure comprehensive educational experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher Certification is required.
  • Experience working with elementary or middle school students in Autistic Support or Life Skills settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
