Job Description

A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Standish, ME, focusing on supporting diverse student needs within a collaborative and supportive learning environment. This contract position spans the current school year and includes two openings: one for a 3rd-grade case manager supporting a caseload of 12 students, alongside two support staff, and another for a Life Skills teacher/case manager with a caseload of 6 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a case manager, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique goals and needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with support staff, teachers, and families to ensure a cohesive and inclusive educational experience.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly to promote growth and engagement.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings regarding student progress and program development.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with educational standards and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Maine.
  • Experience working with elementary-level students, specifically in special education settings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and students.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Location and Schedule:

  • Onsite position in Standish, ME.
  • Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
