Job Description

This contract opportunity will have you working weekdays with a manageable 32-hour schedule at a single, welcoming school site near South Shore.

Youll be closely collaborating with the special education teacher and behavior support team, helping implement individualized lesson plans, providing one-on-one student guidance, and assisting within the resource room. Your direct contributions will shape students confidence, learning, and social development every day!

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold a high school diploma or GED (South Dakota requirement)
  • Experience with special education or working with children/teens is highly preferred
  • Reliable team player with a compassionate, flexible approach
  • Comfortable providing in-class and individualized support
  • Ability to follow direction and communicate effectively with supervising teachers and specialists

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in the classroom, supporting their academic and behavioral goals
  • Deliver one-on-one and small-group assistance, following provided lesson plans
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the special education teacher and behavior team to adapt strategies as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold all school policies and procedures
  • Participate in brief training and school onboarding before your start
