Make a meaningful difference every day supporting students in self-contained behavior classrooms focused on autism and structured intensive support. This contract-based opportunity spans from August 3 until May 21, 2027, at a renowned high school near Scottsdale, AZ. You'll play a vital part in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment geared toward students with emotional disabilities and those facing challenges with prosocial and self-regulatory skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Card
- Proficiency working with students with emotional or behavioral disabilities, autism, or related eligibility areas
- Awareness of diverse student needs, including at-risk, limited English proficient, and exceptional students
- Familiarity with federal, state, and district guidelines for special services and IEP documentation
- Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training, or willingness to attend ongoing staff development sessions
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Onsite availability throughout the contract period
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
- Employ structured classroom management strategies, fostering a supportive and nurturing atmosphere
- Track student progress, adjust instructional techniques, and maintain accurate educational records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and outside agencies to best support student outcomes
- Participate in district, school, and team-based meetings as needed
