Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic and collaborative school environment near Salem, OR. Multiple full-time contract positions are available, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 5, 2026. All roles are onsite, offering the opportunity to work directly with students and dedicated support staff.

Openings include:

  • Two Elementary Developmental classrooms (15 students each; 6 assistants; focus on Behavioral, ASD, and Communication needs)
  • One Elementary Behavior classroom (Grades 3-5; 16 students; 5 assistants)
  • One Middle School Resource classroom (40 students; 2 assistants shared)
  • One Elementary Resource position (two nearby sites; 35 students; 1 assistant per building)
  • One Middle School Behavior classroom (15 students; 5 assistants)

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Special Education Teacher certification/license in Oregon
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and a variety of needs, including behavioral support, ASD, and communication challenges
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for coordinating with assistants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to handle a dynamic classroom with compassion, flexibility, and effective classroom management strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver specialized instruction adapted to a range of learning and behavioral needs
  • Collaborate with classroom assistants and related service providers
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff regarding student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all reporting requirements
