A K-12 special education teaching position is available for the 2025-2026 school year on a contract basis in Round Lake, IL. This role involves working as a special education teacher in a self-contained classroom setting, providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the learning requirements of K-12 students in a self-contained environment.
• Collaborate with general education staff, parents, and support personnel to develop and implement effective resource strategies.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records aligned with state and federal regulations.
• Use various instructional methods and assistive technologies to support student engagement and achievement.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification in Illinois is required.
• Experience working in resource settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices in inclusive education.
• Ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively and address diverse student needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
