A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for a Contract position serving middle and high school age students in the Belvidere, IL area. This role is ideal for educators with an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education seeking a full-time commitment for the current school year (CSY), from ASAP through the end of the school year (EOSY).

Location: Belvidere, Illinois
Position Type: Contract, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Caseload:

• Position 1: Middle School, up to 10 students
• Position 2: High School, up to 10 students
  Curriculum: Materials are provided for both positions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
• Deliver specialized instruction to support academic and social development
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and support personnel to promote student success
• Monitor and record student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Maintain compliance with state and district policies for special education services

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education required
• Experience working with middle and/or high school age students preferred
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and instructional strategies
• Ability to manage small caseloads and provide individualized attention
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Interview and Onboarding:

• Initial panel interview conducted via Zoom
• Immediate decision-making process to expedite hiring
• School-specific onboarding including fingerprinting and background checks will be required prior to start
