Your assignment will be based at a single elementary campus, providing a consistent environment as you work 35 hours per week. The caseload includes one elementary resource program (SPARK) and two classrooms serving students with cognitive impairments. Enthusiastic support staffincluding paraprofessionals and other aideswill be available to enhance your instructional impact.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher certification required.
- Experience in resource and cognitive impairment classrooms strongly preferred.
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to elementary-aged students.
- Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and adaptive learning environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with fellow educators and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging individualized instruction in both resource and cognitive impairment programs.
- Design and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and collaborate on evaluations and meetings.
- Partner with paraprofessionals and support staff to provide differentiated support for students.
- Communicate regularly with families and school professionals to foster student growth.
- Uphold the schools commitment to equitable, high-quality special education services.
