Job Description

A highly motivated Special Education Teacher is needed to champion the academic and personal growth of students with mild to moderate learning differences. This onsite position offers the opportunity to make a significant difference by crafting and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs) that best fit each learners strengths and goals.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education Certification from the state of Michigan
  • Special Education endorsement required
  • Previous experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities is preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and intervention to students with a range of learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor effective IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary school teams
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching techniques to meet diverse educational needs
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and structured classroom climate
  • Engage collaboratively with staff and administration to deliver comprehensive support

This is a full-time, contract position for the 2026-2027 school year, based entirely onsite within a Detroit-area school building (exact location to be determined). You will work within a committed educational community focused on empowering every students academic journey.
