Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credential in Special Education for elementary settings
  • Behavior endorsement strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in school-based roles
  • Proficiency supporting students with behavioral or emotional needs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, positive classroom environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Adapt general education curriculum to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Employ evidence-based behavior management strategies in the classroom
  • Track and communicate student progress through ongoing assessment
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Establish strong relationships with students, building trust and promoting self-advocacy
