Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support a K-12 school serving students with autism in Providence, RI. The position is a contract role for the current school year, offering a structured schedule with 37.5 hours per week over 7.5 days. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of approximately 10 students, focusing on delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to their unique educational needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Rhode Island Teaching Certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum in a K-12 setting
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and instructional teams

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and interventions aligned with students IEP goals
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment fostering growth and development
