Job Description
A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Portage, MI. This contract position runs for the current school year and requires an onsite commitment of 35 hours per week.
Qualified candidates must possess a valid Michigan Special Education (SPED) license and have either a Communication Impairment (CI) or Autism Impairment (AI) endorsement. The role focuses on supporting elementary students with special education needs and managing a defined caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to elementary students with special needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEPs
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and related service providers
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as required
Qualifications:
- Michigan Special Education teaching license
- CI or AI endorsement is required
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
