Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Schedule: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Contract Dates: July 30, 2026 May 19, 2027

Two Unique Special Education Opportunities

  • We are seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers to support elementary students in self-contained classroom settings. Both positions provide the opportunity to work alongside paraprofessional support staff while helping students develop academically, behaviorally, and socially in a structured learning environment.
  • Whether your passion is supporting students with autism or providing academic intervention in a cross-categorical classroom, these roles offer the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.

Opening #1: K1 Autism Classroom

  • Join a self-contained classroom designed to support young learners with autism and related needs.
  • Kindergarten through 1st Grade
  • Caseload of approximately 1012 students
  • Supported by 2 paraprofessionals
  • Daily living skills, Communication development, Social-emotional growth, Foundational academic skills, Behavioral and learning strategies

This role is ideal for educators who enjoy creating structured, supportive environments that help students gain independence and confidence.

Opening #2: K3 Cross-Categorical Classroom

  • Work with elementary students across a variety of disability categories in a more academically-focused setting.
  • Kindergarten through 3rd Grade
  • Caseload of approximately 1012 students
  • Supported by 2 paraprofessionals
  • Small-group instruction model
  • Academic growth, Individualized instruction, Skill development, Inclusive educational practices

This position is a great fit for teachers who enjoy balancing special education services with strong academic programming. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver differentiated instruction based on student needs
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff
  • Track student progress and maintain required documentation
  • Communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in meetings related to student services and educational planning
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture

What You'll Need

  • Active Arizona Special Education License
  • Ability to work onsite throughout the school year
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs

Preferred

  • Experience in self-contained classroom settings
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Familiarity with elementary special education programs
