Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide structured teaching support for 2nd to 4th grade students in Phoenix, AZ. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 21, 2026, offering a hands-on role focused on special education within an onsite school setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering direct instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Providing case management services and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations for IEPs
  • Developing and implementing a full continuum of special education services tailored to student needs
  • Maintaining accurate student records and documentation
  • Consulting within the Response to Intervention (RtI) process
  • Collaborating with staff to implement accommodations and modifications within the classroom and school environment
  • Providing behavior management support and implementing behavior intervention plans
  • Communicating regularly with parents and guardians to support student progress
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support student success

Qualifications for this role require:

  • Current Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
  • Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Experience with structured teaching for elementary students (2nd 4th grade)
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
